Internal Cladding Using Corrosion-Resistant Metals

NOW Wellhead offers the capability to apply exotic alloy overlaid material to the wetted areas within the cavities and bores of valve bodies, housings, crosses and bonnets produced from standard forgings and castings – in accordance with standard practice.


This overlay technique provides an economic solution to then allow their use in environments subject to highly corrosive media.


The computer controlled welding process is capable of overlaying a constant thickness of material at a controlled feed rate using 304, 316 stainless steel and Inconel 625 materials.


Inconel 625 is a protective overlay material especially suited for severely corrosive environments such as CO2, chlorides and salt water. Other corrosion-resistant materials such as nickel-base cobalt-base alloys can also be applied to various base metals using NOW Wellhead overlay process.
