Manually Energized Seal Slip-Type Casing Hanger

The C-21 Slip-Type Casing Hanger with ‘H’ seal packoff is a split, segmented, wraparound casing hanger used for shallow wells with light casing loads that do not require an annular seal prior to removing the BOP and cutting the casing. The ‘H’ seal packoff is designed to be installed after the casing has been landed, cut off and dressed. The packoff serves as the primary seal when the next spool is installed. It allows the test to be performed between the flanges and protects the C-21 slip from test pressure.

The C-21-P Slip-Type Casing Hanger is designed for use over mudline suspension systems or when sufficient casing weight is not available to energize C-22 or C-29 automatic casing hanger seal. The packoff seal is energized when the compression cap screws in the top of the hanger and or lockscrews are tightened as required.

The C-21 and C-21-P casing hangers are of similar design to the C-22 hanger and are capable of supporting 50% of the casing yield strength.

Compatible Bowls

· The C-21 casing hanger with ‘H’ packoff cannot be used in C-22-BP, C-22-L, C-29-BP, or C-29-L casing bowls due to the seal interface with retainer pins or lockscrews.

· The C-21-P casing hanger cannot be used in C-22-BP, or C-29-BP casing bowls due to the seal interface with retainer pins.

Casing Size

· C-21 and C-21-P slip-type casing hangers will accommodate the full API tolerance range for casing O.D.

· Special casing hangers for nonstandard casing O.D. sizes are available upon request.
