Adjustable and Positive Chokes

Adjustable and positive chokes are designed to reliably control the flow rate of fluids discharged from a well. Chokes are available in various end connections and are convertible from adjustable to positive and vice versa. They are supplied in sizes 1-13/16” through 3-1/16”. Service conditions can be met with a variety of standard and special trims.

Versatile Choke Bodies

· Same choke body is used in an adjust-able or positive choke application.

In-Line Repairability

· All internal parts are easily replaced in the field.

Positive Choke

Used to restrict discharge rate at tree:

· The straight-bore bean provides the means to efficiently and consistently restrict discharge rate.

· The discharge rate can be altered by installing a different size bean.

· Available in orifice sizes 5/64” through 48/64” in 1/64” increments.

· Positive beans are available in ceramic or tungsten carbide material.

· Convertible to an adjustable choke by ex-changing the blanking plug and bean with an adjustable bonnet assembly and seat.

Adjustable Choke

Used to clean up or flow test a well:

· Tapered needle and seat adjust well discharge rate.

· Indicator sleeve reveals orifice size in 1/64” increments needed for conver-sion to an equivalent positive choke size.

· Convertible to a positive choke by ex-changing the adjustable bonnet assembly and seat with a blanketing plug and bean.

· Lubrication and vent fittings are used for general maintenance.

· Adjustable chokes may be used on a continual basis to help prevent damage to the tree gate valves when the well is being brought on and off line.
